Is the Parent or Guardian Present?

Try to ensure that the parent or guardian is present;

- If a parent or guardian cannot be present then ensure that the customer has been given written permission or that a chaperone is present.

Will the Child or Vulnerable Person be Left Alone?

You should avoid situations where you are left with a child or vulnerable person alone;

- Suggest that a parent or guardian be present and if this is possible, you should be okay to deal with the child.

Do you need to apply treatment to the child?

If you need to touch the child or vulnerable person to apply treatment or demonstrate something;

- Discuss what you want to do beforehand

- Get the parents consent

- Be very careful to touch them appropriately, you will be acting in a professional and acceptable way.
