Security Reports

If, unfortunately, a breach of security occurs it must always be recorded and reported as soon as possible to the relevant authority. All businesses will have security procedures which include information relating to how breaches of security are to be recorded and to who.

These procedures will differ according to the extent and nature of the incident and also the size and nature of the business. In some cases the incidents may be dealt with by the company management but in serious case the police may be called in to deal with the situation.

All breaches of security must be recorded to the relevant authority. This is equally important whether it involves a missing clothes item or purse, or an expensive item of equipment or stock.

Security Reports

                            

In a small business, there may be only a few members of staff, and in this case all incidents should be reported to your immediate line manager. Some businesses may have designated a specific member of staff to record any incidents of this nature and in these cases that person should be informed as soon as possible. Some establishment rules require that any report must be written down and recorded whereas other will only require a verbal report. Always be aware of your own establishment rules and follow them.

Large businesses with many staff members, will sometimes have separate security departments. They will deal with all breaches of security and have specific reporting procedures which will be outlined to you when you join the company.
